WALK AND PEDAL FOR THE PLANET 2019

It was a crisp and clear morning on October 13th when volunteers came out to help Fossil Free Fredericksburg  (FFF) and various organizations meeting the challenges of climate change head-on!  It was exciting to see and hear citizens asking questions, signing the FFF 100% Clean Energy resolution, writing postcards to the city council and decorating their bikes.  Our speakers were very inspirational! Many thanks to our students: Lily, Catherine, and Ally, and Associate Pastor Joshua Cole for sharing their personal stories and insights.  The walk/bike on the Heritage Trail to The Friends of the Rappahannock’s activity and awesome climate mural was energizing; several went on to write their goals and ideas for beating climate change in chalk on the path near Cossey Pond.
Many thanks to the volunteers and participants for making this a successful and encouraging event in our charming city!
